Reviewer REVIEWER allows a user to retrieve and display any DWG/DXF file. REVIEWER allows users to 'hot-link' RESOURCE objects onto any of the displayed cells and/or drawn objects. These 'hot-links' allow the user direct access the RESOURCE stored in RESOLUTION. Once the RESOURCE is found, options are presented to the user with regard to the type of application or information that the user wants. The unique feature of REVIEWER is that it allows users to 'link' RESOURCE objects onto any of the displayed cells and/or drawn objects without violating the DXF/DWG file format standard. These 'links' allow the user to directly access the RESOURCE stored in RESOLUTION-REPOSITORY. Once the RESOURCE is found, options are presented to the user with regard to the type of application or information that the user wants. REVIEWER provides a low cost way of viewing existing drawings. Any drawing becomes 'smart' by 'dragging' a REPOSITORY resource from another application and 'dropping' on drawing object that is to be 'smart'. REVIEWER provides an intuitive 'point and click' method of accessing data within the REPOSITORY database. REVIEWER avoids the need for complex, and expensive, add-ins to CADD programs.
