Resolver RESOLVER is an OLE capable, object oriented user interface for RESOLUTION. It enables the user to select a plant resource (equipment item, document, process tag) to work on either from a browser application or from an embedded object. RESOLVER then displays all applications that can be run to find additional information on the resource. When the user selects an application, scripts stored in the database perform all the actions required to display the information to the user. Objectives Enable plant resources to be treated as OLE embeddable objects. Create an environment that can adapt to changing business processes. Exploit the use of the 'thin-client' in which the majority of the data manipulation is performed on the server. Provide users flexibility in creating their own environment and navigation routes between tasks, while keeping the ability to define preferred navigation routes. Allow external applications to be integrated seamlessly within the user interface architecture.
