Equipment Specifications & Plant Asset ManagementThe Equipment Specifications Management solution in Resolution provides the ability to manage plant equipment and asset information (design data, specifications, operating data and documentation). It provides a central clearing house for all plant equipment specification data which can be interactively entered, updated, and reviewed. Data are stored in such a form that they are suitable for engineering analysis such as automatic comparison of design values versus measurement actual values.
In addition, the database automatically generates equipment specification sheets in XML, which are formatted in XSLT to produce data sheet reports and/or data entry forms (as shown below).

Attributes are defined for classes of equipment. The object model in Resolution enables attributes to be inherited from parent classes. e.g. all attributes on a TANK would be inherited by a subtype of tank FLOATING ROOF TANK. Multiple inheritance is allowed.
Data associated with a piece of equipment will include fixed specification values, but also potentially, live values resident on a real-time data acquisition system. There may also be values that are calculated on demand. Some values may come from laboratory analyses. Some may come from analysis programs such as simulation programs, LPs or reconciliation programs. All of these types of data are handled in the same consistent manner such that they can be displayed along side one another. All attribute data, regardless of their source can be plotted over time using the List Resource Trender application. The Equipment Specification Viewer provides a flexible search environment for locating equipment and then enables specification and documentation to be accessed. Note: "specification" information can also include real-time values, results of simulation runs, plant design cases as well as the customary equipment data sheet. |
